What about that freak Joe Street? "Dogs aren't like people. They have everything they need living in those cages. We should be so lucky to live like that". I'll tell you what freak boy-NO, that was not everything I needed living in that cage. I needed human interaction, socialization, kindness, health care, and most importantly LOVE-none of which was found in that cage. I swear I would bite him in his mini me jewels if I ever saw him.
yeah, i gotta say, that owner of uncle bills bothered me the most. he thinks those dogs all have what they NEED? see, this shows that a person like that knows NOTHING about animals....but yet he makes a LIVING off animal LOVERS!!! i think it's HIGH TIME for a BOYCOTT of uncle bills pet store!!! now, i have bought nothing there for years, but i am just appalled at the lack of remorse shown by him, after being presented with the PROOF. i will say this, i have seen puppymills that were MUCH WORSE that what they showed there. they are the smaller type puppymills, who sell to the "mom and pop" pet stores around town. the amish are who sells to the likes of the large chains like uncle bills, or paas pets (are they still in business??) i have met many amish people out in parke county, as my parents have a place out there. i just want to point out that not all amish people are heartless low lifes like the ones breeding the puppies. (just wanted to say that)some are super people. i just hope that by this being aired on WTHR, that this will open everyone's eyes to where these cute pups at uncle bills come from. to anyone who thinks they are "rescuing" a dog by buying it from there....WATCH THE SHOW. every time money is spent on dogs at pet stores, that money goes right into those bad people's pockets, and it begins the cycle all over again. the reason there ARE places like this, is because people keep buying dogs from pet stores. {{taking a breath}} ok, off the soapbox....FOR NOW. ;o)
I've boycotted UB's for years. They take mixed puppies and try to pass them off as 'special breeds' and then charge a fortune for them. Miss Priss and her siblings were an accident. An eskimo bred with a Pekinese, not a good mix. I got to keep Priss, but one of the other puppies was taken to UB to find a home. UB said they would be happy to find the puppy a home. They called it a Peke-a-mo and sold the puppy for $200. We should all write and complain to Uncle Bill's.
I didn't watch the show because I knew it would throw me into a rage that would take me days to recover from. I NEVER go into pet stores that sell dogs/cats. I HATE those stupid stores. I'm not even sure I should go into the ones that sell birds and small animals. I usually buy all my stuff from Pet Supplies Plus or the Dog Bakery, just to be safe. I really don't like to support any store that sells any kind of animals. I love that quote, Mama Muttblood! You can see our nation has a long way to go to achieve greatness.
We did watch the report last night and it is sad to see all of those dogs penned up for their lives in a wooden cage. As much as I don't want to defend the breeders and the middle man "Graber", I will, to an extent. I grew up very near Amish communities and learned a great deal about their culture. One thing we must all remember is that the Amish don't view animals in the same light as you and I. Obviously, they'd never be members of IndyPaws, but more than that, they don't view animals as pets at all. The animals they own all serve a work purpose. Dogs are no exception to this way of thinking. The dogs serve as a means of revenue. I'm more upset with the stores that continue to provide the demand for poorly bred puppies just so they can get them at a discount and turn around to sell them for a large profit.
