Spot the differences...

Spokes on Lost Pets - Wed, November 28 2007

Not trying to start anything, but wondering if anyone is as confused as I am about the following--try to spot any differences between the two photos:

A 4.5yr old cat named "Minney" is listed on the HSI website. Here's her photo:

While searching around on Petfinder.com (why I look I don't know...), I found this cat, named "Holly" up for adoption at IACC:

http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=9069911

Here's her description: I'm Holly! I'm a cute little gal who came to the shelter as an owner surrender in early August. I really love to play and pose for the camera. I hope when I move into your house you take lots of pictures of me!

----------------------

I can't see any differences. Am I missing something?

Is a photo wrong of one of the cats? I know at HSI they get a lot of animals and sometimes photos can get switched accidently...

Did one owner (say, of a couple) surrender the cat w/o the other's knowledge and now one feels "free" of the cat and the other misses her?

Wonder wassup?

Nope, that's the same cat. Weird.

Here's a note from IACC on that:
"Rest assured, ladies, that this is just a case of two similar looking cats. Holly still resides here at the shelter, and she is only 7 months old. Apparently Milly is 4 and a half."
P.S. There are still hundreds of cats out there, looking for homes! Take Two!

I found a lot of the same pets on local websites as well as petfinder. I think they use petfinder to help place the animals. No mistake, just giving such a cute little kitty twice the publicity.

Also, one website lists the cat as a female and the other lists the cat as a male. But that is the same picture, which is odd.

It is NOT the case of two similar cats. It's the same picture. Look closely at the person holding the cat... both have the SAME glasses, SAME colored shirt. Yes, I am that anal. Serves me well at my place of employment... Which is why I asked if perhaps a photo had been assigned to the wrong cat? If you see the picture for "Circle" on here, but go to Petfinder.com and look for the "Circle" at IACC, there's 2 different cats pictured. Picture mix-ups happen. Just don't want someone to think the cat they're looking for looks one way only to get to the shelter and see a different cat.

While the site manager claims they're different cats the pic used for each cat is exactly the same. It's the same photo because the same man is holding the cat. Kinda strange that both places would have the same photo.

Exactly! I'm kinda thinking that the people who lost Minney sent pictures to both HSI and IACC, then perhaps photos accidently got switched around. I've helped people at HSI trying to pick out a kitten when the kitten they like (by name on collar) isn't the same as the kitten in the picture that goes with the name.
