Paws and Snow

Sadie on My Blog - Sun, January 13 2008

Ok, so my mom needs some help here. We are from Florida and haven't been in the snow. I am loving the snow, but mom wants to know if it is ok for her to trim up my fur on my feet. She doesn't want me to walk on ice cubes, but doesn't know if it would hurt me more if she trimmed my feet.

I had a cocker spaniel who had really hairy feet / toes. I only trimed them when she slid on tile or wood floors so that her pads were clear but never between the toes.

Yes, trim the feet. I have really feathered feet. The snow will attach to the fur and make walking uncomfortable. Be sure to get the fur from between the pads as well. If your feet get cold, then - hey come inside by the fire and roast marshmellows!
