Good place to buy outdoor fish?

Nancy on Shopping - Wed, April 16 2008

So my uncle is helping me move to Ohio this weekend and since I am like his extra kid ('cause 6 isn't enough aparently) he won't ever take money from me. So I was thinking of getting him some fish for his outdoor pond. He always seems to lose a few over the winter. Anyone know of a good place to get koi type fishies? They need to be pretty small since his pond isn't that big.

Thanks!!

I saw this a few days ago.
http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/grd/638809782.html I know nothing about outdoor fish so I don't know if this is a good way to go about getting fish. The post said the fish are still on the small side so it might be just what you are looking for. Good luck with your move.

I use the "feeder" goldfish fish that you can purchase really cheap. I started with 4 of them 8 years ago and have had over 100 of them! They are beautiful when they get bigger! The males have a long flowing tail and the females short tails!

PetsMart generally has decent koi. I've bought several of mine there. Nice garden shops also have koi sometimes. I also have some of the goldfish such as D&P mentioned. My oldest fish, Moby Dick, has been with me for 6 years. I am happy to report that all six of my koi made it through this winter and are swimming and looking for food.

You could try the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, but you have to be kind of sneaky. If anyone questions you, claim to be an alderman.

ROFL!!! Nancy, don't try this. It might impede your law career if you get busted.
