I did it!

Rhonda on My Blog - Tue, May 06 2008

I am NOT a Foster Failure! Not that there is anything wrong with being a foster failure, but I have successfully completed my first foster. Bogie will be going to his furever family this weekend. Eventhough I know we can not take on another dog permanently, I was so afraid that I wouldn't be willing to give Bogie up. I'm sad that he's going and I will miss him, but he is going to a great family so that makes me really happy. We are already lining up our next foster but have a delimma about whether to take on another adult or maybe try a puppy this time. I'm leaning towards a 18 month old named Jake but we haven't completely decided yet. I'm sure whoever comes to our house, we will make sure to put a profile up. Anyway, I knew you guys would understand about how happy I am that I did not fail at my fisrt fostering attempt.

We're so proud of you! I am the result of mom's foster failure. That's ok, it happens. You can't help but fall in love sometimes. You have been great parents to Bogie and he's ready to go!! Yay!

Congratulations!!! I always cry a little when they go, but knowing that they are going to a great home helps a lot. IGPR is so lucky to have you!

Okay, so its okay to cry? That's good to know.lol We are going to take the first leg in the transport, taking him from Indy to Richmond. We will also have a 10 week old tag-along who's going to Maryland. I think helping with the transport will help me let go of him.

Crying is part of the process. I know I personally would cry, even though I knew my fosters would be going to a furever home eventually. I'm so proud of you! Bogie is one lucky dog!!!
