OT: Ojo and Kathi's Casino

NosyRosie on Activities - Sun, June 15 2008

I took my dad on a spur-of-the-moment trip to Hoosier Park Casino this evening. My dad is a big believer in the theory of "Win the money, cash out, go home."

I hate to say I don't really understand some of the slot machine games. I like the straight-forward screens that have all the lines going in various directions so you can win in various combos. I also like quarter slots. I would play penny and nickel slots, but again, I don't understand the games!?? I sat down and played a quarter slot machine and was a little bummed that the max bet was 9 quarters...then suddenly stuff started to light up and the coin counter was going crazy! The combo I struck lead to a payout of 1275 quarters ($318.75). Ya, can you say "Win the money, cash out, go home?"

My husband wanted to break even, and eventually fed his earnings back to the nickel slots machine. Oh well...all in all, a good last minute road trip. We stayed 45 minutes. Dad won $75 and held onto that ticket with his life.

Oh, and Dad sez the bathrooms are very clean.

Grandpa went to Indiana Downs the first three days it was open. Mom says we have to have an intervention with him. The third day on his trip with the old fart club, he came home with $1200 more than he left with. That will buy us some tasty treats and new bling.

I went to Ojo and Kathi's casino twice. There are some quarter machines that play 5 lines. I play them instead of the 9 lines. If you play 9 quarters, you might as well be on a lower coin 50 cent machine. There are 2 cent machines that can cost you 20 cents each spin, you could be playing one line on a quarter game. It's tricky. It is set up for mathmeticians. But, I loved all the fun and gave them back all my winnings in trying for the big one. Congratulations on your winnings. They announce on the speakers names of big winners which makes you want to keep trying. It's so much fun. The bathrooms are very kept up. I think they should put pictures of Ojo around the place since she did such a great job of advertising for them.

I'm entirely too cheap to spend my own money gambling. However, if anyone wants to give me money, I'll gladly go gambling.

Glad you won! I've never been gambling in my whole entire life.

I've never been gambling. However, my mom has paid for several trips to Vegas on the nickel slots. Mom always seems a lot luckier than I am.

I love to play blackjack, and if they had tables there, an intvention might be in order. LOL I don't like slots, mainly because I have never won on them. I might go with friends, but I won't go crazy on the slots because they bore me, and I feel like I am just wadding my money up and throwing it in the trash can.

My parents go to a casino at the tip of West Virginia where it meets Pennsylvania ever weekend. They take a certain amount of money and play till it's gone. I, personally, get depressed watching my quarters go down those slots... I don't enjoy it but my parent's sure do!

Mom tells Daddy to just hand her the money and say red or black... She'll tell him, nope it was the opposite and keep the money. That way, he got to play, still lost his money just like the real game BUT Mom gets to go home with change. Yeah, Mom doesn't gamble at all..
