House full of dogs!

OMG, something I volunteered to do in January is coming back to bite me in the rear. My parents are going a a week long vacation starting July 4th and I offered to keep their 2 dogs. Their poodle mix does NOT do well with being boarded so we usually keep the little guys...no big deal. Our house if very hectic when they come because Toby, the 4 lb. poodle mix, is the same age as Colton and they LOVE to play chase around the house. Jake the shih-tzu is 6 and can be very onery with our dogs sometimes but they have learned to just leave him alone. Now here's the OMG part.....I agreed to go this before we made the decision to foster and now we have 6 big dogs in our house 1 of whom has not been tested around little dogs. Jake is settling in okay at our house but we are still having pack placement issues with our oldest male and Jake. Totally normal, but still something we have to keep an eye on. NOW I'm going to be adding 2 more male dogs to the mix and I'm beginning to think of all the things that could go wrong in that week. My mom has offered to not go on the trip and stay home with their dogs, but I know my nephews would be really disappointed if grandma didn't go so I told her not to worry. We did keep their dogs last weekend for most of the day and things went very well so that gives me hope! I am planning on taking 1/2 that week off of work to stay home with the dogs. How sad is that?! Taking vacation time just to make sure ALL the dogs get plenty of exercise and are not cooped up all day so that maybe we can cut down on any incidents. Also we will have 2 Jakes and that gets kinda confusing.lol So stay turned for the stories I'm sure Colton and Jake will be posting about their week with their cousins and pray that I can keep my sanity!!!
