a lady was bragging to me the other day about her registered "doodle" dogs that she was thinking of breeding. Took every last ounce of me not to go into IP mode on them. I did mention the designer mutt to them, much to their displeasure.
Hey, we designer mutts are called Muttbloods. It's a proud moniker.
I don't know but you are very cute!
Ok, I realize I am a hypocrite because I have Puggles (to my defense I got them before they became popular) but I am getting a tired of people coming up with new designer breeds to try and make a buck in hopes that the breed will take off.
Now that I know better, I definitely think it takes away the endearing quality of a mutt and "devalues" the lineage of a respected breed.
As much as I love my dogs and would not trade them for the world, I would never seek out a "designer" breed again.
Labs and I think Newfoundlands have webbed feet. I could be wrong about the newfies. The labs tail is also designed to steer it through the water like a rudder (at least according to the lab websites I looked at).
We sure are Deuce. It seems that there are quite a few breeds out there with webbed feet. Australian shepherds are one of them, and I think border collies also got the webbed feed. Mom actually checked Charlie's feet before she got him since it can be a hearding trait.
Me too--- That would make us Burds not ducks....
You're correct, Newfies have webbed feet, too. Any dogs known for water work have them. The list of breeds with webbed feet is surprisingly long.
I didn't know about Boxadores being a designer breed, but I "adore" the name. I mean, how can you NOT fall in love with a dog that has the word "adore" in its name?
If your love of baths is any indication, I'd say we might have to coin a new designer breed: the Duckadore!
