We should say thank you

Hamlet on Activities - Wed, June 25 2008

My mom wrote to the Board of the Humane Society of Indianapolis a few weeks ago urging them to replace that woman who made all the money for NOT taking in stray animals. Well, since that woman resigned, Mom decided she'd write again and tell the Board president how pleased she was that HSI now had the chance to move in a direction that might be better for the animals -- who, after all, ought to be what HSI is about. I went to obedience school (a long time ago!) and I know how important it is to be rewarded when you do the right thing. So how about it, folks? Shouldn't we all write again and tell them how happy we are with this change, and urge them to choose a new leader who will put the welfare of the animals first? Maybe they'll be more likely to pay attention to us if we tell them we like this move!

I received an email about this switch at HSI. Let's hope they head in the right direction from here on out!

Good thinking, Hamlet!! I suggested mom send them a peanut butter stuffed Kong, but she said a nice thank you letter would do. She's just no fun! She said she'll make sure to send a note.

You are absolutely right, Hamlet. Positive reinforcement works wonders. Thanks for the suggestion.

That's a great idea Hamlet. I'll tell Mom, cause I can't write.
