Scared to Death

Tiffany on Grief - Sun, June 29 2008

Barney took years off my life this morning, and about caused me to take years off my husband's life. Everything was fine yesterday. Then last night after I go to bed hubby is in back garage tinkering. When he goes to let the dogs in Barney is missing!!! Come to find out the gate is open!!. Now the dogs were outside all day yesterday, no escapes, but now suddenly the gate is open. I go out this morning before work to feed, water and let the dogs out....no Barney! I panic! Nothing like running up and down the road at 5:00 in the morning calling for the dog!

He is home safe and sound now, after I cried half way to work and almost called off!!! And hubby realized that he is much better off waking me up than me finding one of the babies missing.

We're happy that you found Barney and he's back home safe. Our Daddy always gets Mom when we are in trouble, sick, or anything.... funny but he calls us his girls until trouble starts then we are instantly Mom's girls.

Been there, done that. Don't ever want to do it again. John would be in such be do-do if he didn't get me up. I really think its a non issue now. Sheila doesn't seem to want to run anymore, and Charlie freaks and sits when something isn't normal. Its SO nice to have a non-bolter!

Wow! That's not a good way to start the day. I'm so glad you found Barney and he's home safe now. I bet you are all worn out now.

Before my mama started doing her own lawn in Merrillville, the lawn service guy used to leave the gate open every now and then. He quit after about the 10th time mama yelled at him for doing it. That's when mama got her own mower. Thank goodness. Glad your Barney is safe.

Good grief, Barney!!! Man I learned not to slip under the fence before Mommy got it fixed. She made me get in my crate for a long time and wouldn't let me out for ever!!! (Well, I guess it was really only about an hour.) We're all glad you are safe and sound. xoxo FiFi

Nice one....I don't have a fence but I will when I move! Geez, Mom would chuck a spazz if I did that!

Wow how long was he missing. I am sure it's the same with you but I couldn't concentrate with something like that going on. I could barely enjoy my vacation when I thought Aden was just sick earlier- let alone missing.

I am the exact same way, I can barely funtion enough to look for Eddie when he gets loose. He's my baby! Luckily, he usually comes back when you wiggle his food bowl around.
