Is anyone NOT afraid of fireworks?

Nicholas James on Grief - Wed, July 02 2008

My least favorite holiday is coming up in 2 days. We all know what that means. Loud fireworks and carrying on in the back yard. I will be hiding in a closet or under the bed waiting for the madness to end. Probably Andy will too.

Any of you out there actually enjoy the fireworks on the 4th of July? (Humans not included!)

I don't care a hoot about fireworks -- esp if my ball is anywhere near Mom. Last year, I wanted to play ball while Grandpa was doing the fireworks. I got in trouble for NOT wanting to sit still so Mom could enjoy them too.

I was curious about them at first but don't really care as long as I'm inside the house. The apartments that we used to live had a 5 acre pond and the family that lives at the opposite end always had a huge firework display. I could sit on my couch looking out our livingroom windows and see the whole thing.

They don't bother any of us furkids.

We do really well with the little stuff. Sheila gets spooked with the big stuff. I started to react tonight, but now I get treats when I hear fireworks. Yeah Rah fireworks!

Someone is letting off fireworks right now! I do not like it. Lexie and I are barking to make it stop. At least that stupid foster dog is good for something. She does help me bark.

yep, someone's got to put those fireworkers in their place. I'm not barking but I do get up to make sure everything is still safe. good job on patrol, Lexie & Bat. Mom said me not barking at the fireworks is a HUGE improvement from last year and it shows that I'm making progress in behavior changing. I would still be barking from yesterday's fireworks (or squeaking) if it weren't for my happy pills & Mom's training camp.

Dude, I just bark at it like I bark at thunder.

I have always been totally scared of fireworks, but for some odd reason, I am not acting scared of them this year. Mom is kinda confused, LOL. I'm still scared of thunder, though, but I seem to be dealing with it better, too, so maybe I'm just growing up?

I was outside visiting with my beagle friend when I heard one go off. Those noises make me nervous so I went back inside. I hate them. They sound like gun fire to me.

I was scared of the loud things last year, but I was just a baby then. This year they don't seem to be bothering me at all.

I'm proud to say they don't bother me a bit *chest puffed with pride*

I am not scared at all, except when they wake me up. Momma takes me to fireworks displays every year and I sit with her and enjoy!!

I'm super scared of them, too. I even get freaked out when they have them on the TV. It's that high pitched sound then the BANG! Yikes! Ma got me some Melatonin last night like Sheila suggested. She's gonna try it out on Friday.

Fireworks? No biggie. We were just at the shooting range where gunshot sounds were going off all over the place. Not a problem at the Muttbloods, and mom says she is grateful.
