Knots on his side

Mama T on Health - Mon, July 07 2008

I noticed last night that ETB has two or three small knots on his side, one on left and two on the right near his hind side. They don't hurt him and they feel like they have something hard in the center but they aren't very big. I'm going to get him an appointment for the Vet but anyone had any issues with this before. Thanks--

Minnie has a knot on her back. The vet said it is just a fat tumor or small cyst and nothing to worry about. He said if it gets bigger, I need to let him know. I've had her for about a year, and there is no change to it. Butch, my stepson's dog, had several fat tumors as does my mom's dog. It always freaks you out to find knots. I have one on my leg. I went to the doctor about a month ago, and it was just a cyst or fat tumor. He wasn't concerned about it. I hope ETB's knots are just fatty tumors - a little left over BCB! ;)

I'd take him to the vet just to be sure, but it probably is just a fatty tumor. Although I'm human, I have one on my back...it's called a lipoma. Doctor says it would do more damage to take it out than leave it there. Hopefully that's what T has too.

Me too but since they're on my behind area, does that make me a knot butt??? Good thing I'm a nudist, she may not have noticed them petting through clothes. See being nekkit is good for your health too!

Preach it brother, ETB!

I had a lump show up one day and it turned out to be an abcess which mom was instructed to just hold pressure on. But yours are probably different since they're in 3 places. Let us know what they say.
BTW: Being nude is great!!!

We hope it's just fatty tissue or something. Like you said, T at least you're a nudist and your Ma found it sooner rather than later! :)

We have a vet appt on Thursday. Keep good puppy thoughts that it's just the fatty tumors. We may have to go on a BCB diet.

Knot King, here. All of mine are fat, imagine that... The vet will probably aspirate them with a needle. Doesn't hurt. He'll check the cells under a microscope to make sure it's just fat cells. I did have one on my chest that grew huge and I had to have it removed. It's back but not nearly as big as it was.

Show the vet how brave you are and I'll bet you'll get a treat or two!

Sasha had several fat deposits under her belly and on her side, which the vet did test even though he knew they were just fat. She had them for a long time and they never got bigger or caused her any pain. Let us know what our Bassett Prince finds out on Thursday :) xoxo

Yes, Kirby, I also love the new avatar. With your mouth open and your tongue hanging out like that, I can almost smell the poop on your breath. Mmmmmm...

Freckles had a few lipomas that I found while petting her one day. They were the size of peanuts and were hard. I became obsessed with checking them...but they never grew or changed in any way. The vet tried to aspirate one and did a biopsy on a teensy weensy piece of it.

Okay, do these fatty tumors come and go because today, I can't find them. He's still going to the Vet.

And Kirby--If I squeezed you wouldn't nothing come out but sweet Corginess ;0)...

I have those fatty thingys too....and I'm really pretty skinny....so I think ETB should definitely still get his BCB's and Mama T biscuits and all good other stuff. Oh yeah, and mama said that we'll keep our fingers, ears (those of us who can), and paws crossed that ETB is a healthy pup. Mama also said that she's not crossin' anything (it makes it hard to type and walk), but will say some prayers.

If you squeezed me, you'd just get juicy milk burps! I love to have a little bit of milk when mommy has her cereal. It makes me burp & toot at the same time! mmmm MILK

Jasmine and Baby have lumps and bumps that I worry about and the vet always feels and looks at them, but says they are ok, cause they can move the bumps. Even when I couldn't, the vet said that it moved well but was behind a muscle and was ok. The vet knows the difference.

Our dog had these before they ended up being from mosquito bites.
