OT - Audiobooks

Rhonda on My Blog - Wed, July 16 2008

Does anybody know who accepts audiobook donations? My husband an I listen to audiobooks and we belong to an online bookclub where we buy the book and then download it onto CDs or our MP3 players.
We have a big collection on CDs from before we got our MP3 players and I would like to donate them to someone but can't seem to find anyplace in Lafayette that accepts them. Which I think is totally wierd. Granted, the are on CDRs and have no book blurbs on them to tell people what the books are about, but they do have the name of the book and the author on all of them. Plus they are all numbered like 1 of 12 or 4 of 10 so you know how many you should have. I really want to get them out of my house but hate to just throw them away. I figured we are a big group of people here on IP and maybe someone would know of someplace that I can donate them to. Our Goodwill won't take them and I tried the Veteran's Home but the person I talked to had no clue so any other suggestions?

A hospital library or hospice facility that loans out non-medical books might like them. There's always eBay! People that are looking for the book wouldn't need the blurb.

If you absolutely can't find someone to pay you for them, I'll work up a trade. I love audiobooks, and am not picky about the blurbs, etc.

You can have them for free. I'm just trying to get them out of my house and find someone who'd enjoy them. That's why I tried calling the Veteran Home. My only other option right now is throwing them away and that seems like such a waste....

They've already made the rounds of everyone I know who listens to them so now I'm trying to find other options. Heck, I'm going to be going through Indy at some time on each of the next 4 weekends, maybe we can meet up somewhere.
