TDI Evaluations

Melissa on Activities - Mon, July 28 2008

Hello all,

I am arranging to host a TDI (Therapy Dog International) evaluation on August 23rd from 11am-1pm. This certification will be offered in conjunction with AKC's Canine Good Citizen certification.

Dogs who pass the TDI will be able to visit local hospitals, nursing homes, libraries and schools in order to provide emotional therapy to those in need of it.

The cost for this exam is 30.00 and is limited to 10 dogs only.

If you need more information, please visit www.tdi-dog.org and ttp://www.akc.org/events/cgc/training_testing.cfm

Please contact me if you have any
additional questions: 574 242 0766.

TDI is a volunteer service. Certification includes liability insurance.

Congratulations also to Batman and Ojo who passed the exam on July 26th!!!

No, no you did not. Though I have to say, that move was brilliant on Scout's part.

She is now famous!

Can Jasper take the test, if he has already gotten his CGC from someplace else? Jersey Joe would love to get his TDI, but unfortunately, he's a little ADD, and would never pass his CGC, haha.(not great for the down and sit stays ;o) I still think we will take him to some nursing homes that would allow us, because he is super gentle with the elderly, small children, and especially handicapped folks, who are on walkers, crutches, or in wheelchairs/scooters. It's hard to believe such a wild man, high drive dog, can turn into such a big smooshy when he knows people are different than others. Bloodhounds are pretty sensitive like that.

other dogs that tested when I did already had their CGC. If you don't have it, you must obtain it with your TDI but if you already have it, you just test for the TDI.

Ojo! That was you?! It's me, Mo! I wanted your ball so much in training. And the lunch meat was delicious. I passed too! Are you going to the library? Mom says there and the nursing home for us.

Yep, it's me. Congrats on passing, Cosmo! Mom said that she can't wait to take me places to help out. I'm hoping for a kid who needs to really work out his arm in a few thousand ball tosses.

Jasper can take the TDI. CGC is not a requirement for the exam, just something we offer at the same time since they're nearly identical.

I'm putting together a local TDI chapter group as well as helping people get started with visitations at their local libraries.

You would be awesome for someone going through physical therapy! Mom wants me to be able to get people up and moving and it'd be great for me since I'm always up for ball, bubbles or laser. I will let you know if I hear about anything. :)
