Muttblood Trip Update!

Sydney on Activities - Sat, August 23 2008

We have so much going on I can barely remember it all! On Thirdsday we got up early and took a LONG ride in the car. We went through Ken Yucky, Tennis See, Wes and Virginia, and ended up at William's where I thought I was getting a burger. I haven't yet. We were planning to stay for 5 nights in the Red Ruff Inn, but it was not a nice place at all! Our room was in a part of the hotel that was disconnected and far away from the main hotel, and there were a bunch of young guys back there making a lot of noise and looking scary. Sometimes they were not speaking English except for what mom calls the "F" word. My favorite "F" word is FOOD. Anyway, our room smelled real bad, like moldy stuff, and there were spatters of BLOOD on the back of the bathroom door! Maddie and I thought it was kind of interesting, but mom and dad sure didn't. The dumpster was only a few feet from our room, again, a plus for Maddie and me, but the humans thought it wasn't sanitary. Mom called it a RAT HOLE. She didn't find out till later that dad saw a REAL rat at the dumpster. Mom went to the lobby in a fit of high dudgeon (I have no clue what that means, but she wasn't happy) and told them we were checking out and that she wanted the rest of her money refunded. I guess she was convincing, because they DID! Then we moved to a real nice place that is right across the street from some horses. I LOVE horses and wanted to slip through the fence to greet them, but Maddie wasn't too sure about it. Anyway, yesterday we met our cousin Yogi, who is big and an Akita/Shepherd mix. He used to be mom and dad's dog, but now he lives with their human daughter. I had to snarl at him when he encroached, but overall we "got along." He's very mellow. Also yesterday we went to the BEACH! We drove along the Colonial Barkway to Yorkie Town. I don't know why they call it that, because I did not see any Yorkies. Before I remembered that I don't like water too much I swam and chased some waves. We rolled around in the sand and got burrs in our coats. I do not like burrs. We could hardly get Maddie out of the water, and she drank so much salt water she had to FRUP. Maddie is wretched excess personified, mom says. I say she's a big PITA. Today we Cesared in Colonial Williams's town, but I still didn't get a burger yet. It's a very dog friendly place, and mom says everyone should come here at least once. There's a lot going on around here, that's for sure! Oxen, horses, sheep...it's dog heaven. Gotta go figure out what happens next! Ta Ta, SYD the KID

The only thing those horses are good for is their tasty poop which mom did not let us pick up for a snack. Kirby, I thought of you. You could make a poop killing in this town!

You guys would not have believed that hotel! I am usually a pretty "roll with the punches" sort of person, but this was SO bad! Red Roof Corporate is going to hear from me. The funniest part was when we were leaving the lobby she told us to come back and stay with them again sometime. Not bloody likely!

My Mom would have bolted out of that hotel, Syd. Yikes! and a letter to corporate would certainly be flying off her computer!

That beach experience sounds like a lot of fun. I like horses too but I'd rather play ball in & out of the water.

Have fun - I'm being a master helper with Daddy today (or Master PITA, depending on who you ask).

We have stayed in many dog friendly motels. We never stayed at a Red Roof Inn because the one in Speedway NEVER looked nice. Our favorite one was the Ramada Inn. Mom was so happy to find a motel that was dog friendly that she forgot to give them our discount. Big bucks but it was worth it. The bathroom was beautiful and the bed was big and wonderful. Dad didn't care because he was tired of driving.

Mom would have gone balistic at the hotel. I agree with you, its be pretty interesting for us, but I wouldn't want to have to deal with mom. Now the rest sounds like a blast! Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Glad you're having fun! I don't blame you about the hotel. I HATE staying in a dump. I'm one of those spoiled b*tches when I'm on vacation. I want to stay somewhere NICE! I figure if I have to work all year to go on vacation, I deserve a little pampering. :)
Everyone here is doing well. All the kitties have been glad to see me. Denny and I are having a wonderful time! ;) I was scratching his chest the other night and he put his paw on my arm like Bev does. He's the coolest cat! He's so lovable. Kinky rolls over when I see her so I'll rub her belly. Luna and Chaka come right up and let me pet them too. I've never lived in a house without a dog, so I've always had the tail-wagging, explosive greeting when I come home. It's kind of nice to walk in to 4 cats who peacefully walk up to say Hi. Not that I don't love dogs, but cats have a nice, peaceful way about them.

I've stayed in some flea bag hotels before but nothing that was as bad as that one sounds. I agree with Ojo and the letter to corporate. Sounds like you're having fun now.

Hi Mama M! Sorry about the "rat hole". Sounds interesting, but I think I would be afraid of a rat. Like my new hairdo? Mom gave me a hair disaster, but Miss Shirley fixed it and I'm okay now. We've missed you and can't wait until our party day!!! Mom says have lots of fun on your trip and we wish we could watch Syd and Maddie playing at the ocean. xoxo LCC

Glad you're having fun at the beach and seeing the horses. That motel room must have been one horrible, icky, scary experience. Glad you got outta there. Have fun on the rest on your trip!
