Has your dog been neutered? If not, that might help with the aggression. I would also suggest some behavior training for him. www.doggoneconnection.com is a great place to start. Be sure you tell them exactly what his problems are when you call to sign up for the classes. It would be best for you to work with him and keep him. There are so many homeless Pits that it's very difficult to find homes for all of them. You bred him, it's your responsibility to take care of him for the rest of his life. I hope his mother is spayed for her own health. If not, that could be an issue as well. check out Casa Del Toro or Indy Pit Crew for more Pit help.
As an experienced APBT owner, I want to stress that many times, dog-dog aggression in this breed cannot be cured, or trained out of them. It is their NATURE. Many folks that I know who have multiple APBT's do keep some separated, actually, Mikey and Jersey Joe stay separated, because Mikey does not like Joe. He is dog selective, unless it's a dog he knew and respected from when he was young, he's not into change. Many APBT's will "turn" as they mature, which means, they turn dog aggressive. You can either keep them separated, or keep only one, as an only dog. Keep in mind, this dog you are rehoming may not be the one starting the fights, you could be missing some very subtle signs, so I would advise against getting another dog, once you find this one a home. I wish you the best of luck, please be sure to screen the home you give him to VERY well, I'm sure some folks on this site who do rescue will have some good suggestions on what that entails. Also, please have both APBT's spayed and neutered, because Lord knows we have a hard enough time in this city finding homes for the ones that are already here!No need to bring more of these sweet babies into this world, to just be abused by jerks, or destroyed by AC. Best of luck. :)
If you take your dog to Indianapolis Animal Care and Control, please note it will most likely be euthanized. IACC does NOT adopt out pits. They will place some of them on rescue transports to other states, but they don't generally take dogs with any aggression problems.
I would definitely check out www.indypitcrew.org and www.casadeltoro.org.
As Kelly says, you can also separate the dogs. Two of our dogs are separated.
Pits require special care as some people do want them for the wrong reason. Since you have more than one, hopefully you looked into this before breeding your female. I would urge you NOT to keep breeding as there are so many pits in rescue right now.
