Speaking for those who are silent

Connie on Activities - Sun, September 14 2008

One of the most powerful speeches I've seen came on Sept. 10 at the IACC meeting from a man who was silent. Wayne Arnold is deaf and he needed an interpreter to help him get his message out to those who attended the meeting. It was a powerful message and it was one that brought some in the crowed to tears.

As Wayne said, he was speaking for the animals whose voices had gone silent. Killed, not because they were ill, or injured, but just because their time was up.

I posted most of his comments at www.saveindianaanimals.blogspot.com

There were many in the audience in tears, as well as several members of the board. When he said he was there to be a voice for the animals...well, that just spoke volumes coming from a hearing impaired individual.

It just takes one person to make a point. Mr. Arnold was that person.
