Subject: Doc has laid an egg!!!!!

Well! Just goes to prove that you never can tell. After 14 years, my "boy"
parrot has laid an egg....who knew? He's been shredding his newspaper/cage
liner and molting really heavily, kind of grumpy, but ready to feed me whenever
I approached the cage. He's not coming out of the cage to flap in the morning
and barely leaves the cage floor even to eat, so I've been putting his seed
near him on the floor. Tonight when I came home from taking Marty back to Elkhart,
David showed me Doc's new accomplishment. It's pretty big, about the size
of a shooter marble. And it's really white. Of course there's no chance
of it hatching. But meanwhile, I guess there's no harm in letting him sit on
the silly thing. Stopping calling him a boy is going to be a hard habit to break.....Should
I get him a boy-bird? Should I give him to a breeder? Should I just keep my frustrated
girl bird all to my own selfish self? Truthfully, I am glad I don't have to
decide right this minute.....
