Sox crossed the rainbow bridge

Kim on Grief - Wed, June 10 2009

We took Sox to the vet last week because she was not eating much and was moping around, I thought it was the heat but then she was breathing funny - kinda shallow and fast. We thought she was only about six but the vet said that she was more like ten and had congestive heart disease. He said that there was not much that we could do at this point but give her water pills to get some of the fluid off her lungs. We took her home and spent a nice weekend with her but she was deteriorating fast so we took her back to end her suffering. It was a sad day and Blu was very confused to see us put her in the ground - we have a pet cemetary in our back yard. Poor Blu watched the entire time and did not want to leave her grave. We are kinda in shock about how fast this all happened but glad that she is not suffering anymore. We gave her a good last 4 years of her life after we rescued her from the city and a fenced in yard and brought her to the country where she could run and chase all the critters. We will miss her :-(
Thanks Remy for being a good boyfriend to our Soxie Baby!

Oh Kim - my heart goes out to you and your family! It is such a shock when it happens so fast, but at least you know that she didn't suffer long and that you gave her a wonderful life.

I am so sorry for your loss of Sox. I too don't have any children, except my 3 dogs, so I feel your pain.

Sox is in a better place now, & knows that she was very much loved by you.

Our prayers are with you at this very difficult time.

Hugs fm Ann, Bucky, Daphne, Annushka, & Pauline.

Thanks to everyone for your prayers and hugs! I just dont understand, we have lost now 2 dogs and 3 cats since moving to the country in 2004! That is why we have our own pet cemetary in the back yard. We gave all of them the best life possible by spoiling them with lots of love, good food and the freedom of country life! It is hard but we will get thru this sad time with all of the support from wonderful people like you along with family and friends!! Thanks again
