Beauregard Update

Beauregard on Lost Pets - Thu, October 01 2009

Beauregard is still lost. However, there is now hope.

I got in touch with Kelly, aka Jersey Joe's biped, and she got me in touch with her friend Mimi, aka Meems here on indypaws. They both do SAR together.

She brought Thor/Sir Thorian, who is quite the tracker. He caught Beau's scent and we were off, and I noted that he was taking a Beau-like path past places that Beau had found of interest before. When we went along 106th St I got nervous. It's not the busiest street in town, but busy enough. However, he didn't cross, and we went up the next street over. Along the way, I found some sign that likely came from Beau ... let's just say I have done enough yard work to know. He was tracked back to the last house on a dead-end street, near the middle of the yard, and the trail went cold. The neighbors were friendly and sympathetic, but none had any information.

The guy at the last house, who I would guess has never won a Miss Congeniality Award, did say that some people from a company had been to work at his place earlier this week. So I'm going to call them tomorrow to see what I can find.

I wish I could have bought dinner for Meems, Kelly, and Mr. Kelly. (I apologize, I am not good with names ... even worse, because my full name is pretty memorable.) They took time out of their lives for this, and I can't thank them enough, except to say that they may have dogs named in their honor at some point.

So there is hope, and we haven't given up.

Ashley, a friend of my wife's, drove here from downtown to help us look. She and Eva took the boys and Perl around various places in the neighborhood, handing out fliers and talking to neighbors. They noticed that someone had put up laminated color fliers ... It was Angie, mom of Remington and Dolly. I can't give you enough thanks.

And I have to thank everyone. The people at HSI tweeted about this, and many people have re-tweeted tweets about Beauregard. He has his one twitter account, beau_boy (to compliment Perl's, perl_girl).

So many people have been great about this, and the folks here on indypaws have been fantastic. Honestly, we can't thank you enough. Let's hope Beauregard is back soon.

We will keep saying our prayers and sending hound dog hugs. Mom would be beside herself if it were one of us. Beau please come home.

I'm relieved to hear that there are signs of Beau nearby. I was also thinking about Kelly and JJ getting involved...I'm glad they were able to help. There are reputable animal communicators around town, too, if you need one.

I was hoping to read that he was home. We do have hope though...hope that he may still be in the area. Louise stayed in the same area for 4 weeks. A woman finally called Louise's foster mom, who rescues dogs.

We just need one person to get him and make a call or check him for a chip....just one person.

Beau is not only part of your family but he is a part of the IndyPaws family and we truly miss him.

Oh, I was so hoping he'd be back by now but good to hear there are signs of him in the area. Nice work SAR buddies.

I posted a Missing Beagle alert on the Clarian community board so hopefully someone will see it and help locate him.

If I weren't home with my sickie daughter, I'd gladly join the search party for today. She's worried about him too. We're praying for Beau's safe return.

I am still praying for Beau also. I will continue to Tweet and do what ever I can from my end. Hopefully with enough people looking for them he will be found.

Me too! I'd be glad to look for him for a few hours tomorrow. Maybe I can keep my beagle finding streak alive.

I am so sad that Beau isn't found yet. We miss him so here on IP and can't wait to hear his howl again. We are keeping our puppy prayers going and passing around the flyer. Mom says her beagle from years ago would sometimes be gone for a week or two and then come home smelly, dirty,tired and hungry, so there is hope. She said one time he came home with an ear torn almost off! Took the vet something like 75 stitches to put it back on. Beau will be home soon - I know it!

Amber, I am totally up for that. I wanted to go look for him so badly last night because I was worried about him in the rain. But my elderly grandmother needed my help with my ailing grandfather and I just couldn't say no to her. I'm more than willing to go tomorrow morning or even later today. I'll PM you my phone number.
