Ears - A Poem

Perl on Breeds - Fri, November 20 2009

[Based on ZZ Top's "Legs"]

She's got ears that hang down so low.
And when she walks they swing to and fro.
When she drinks, they dip into her bowl.
Always gets dirt on them when sniffing out a mole.

She is so cute.
And never mute.
Yeah, she's my hound.

She's got ears that hear every crinkle.
They droop so low when she takes a tinkle.
Though she might get mites, we know what to do.
Give them a cleaning, then rinse with goo.

She's my baby
Demanding gravy ...
She's my hound.

She's got ears that feel silken and soft.
But she can hear gnats whenever they cough.
Every time her head shakes, they go fwop-fwop-fwop.
When I give them a good rub, she hope it won't stop.

Her name's Perl.
She's my girl!
Yeah, she is my hound.

I think this one is your very best poem. Female beagles rule and Perl is the Queen.

I can say this for my girls...

Nothing rhymes with "Sweet Louise" but she is my hound too!!

How about 'wheeze' or 'sneeze' then there's jeze, peas, fleas, keys, knees, trees, Dom Delouis,
Surely one of those could be made to work Aunt Kris.

Aunt Kris may be able to find something to rhyme with Sweet Louise but my mommy, Diane, never could write a poem. Mommy got help from Perl for Daisy's short poem.
