Off-leash areas

Kippie on Activities - Wed, April 18 2007

Short of getting an official IndyParks bark park pass does anyone know of some good spots in the area to run/play off-leash for a while?

If you can get access, school stadia often are good choices. They are fenced in, you don't have to share them, and there is often food under the bleachers

There's a nice dog park at the humane society on N. Michigan St. There's a fee, but it's lower than IndyParks.

I like to play fetch on the tennis court at my apartment complex. It's a great way on rainy/wet days to get my exercise without getting too dirty.

Rudy ... wow ... I do that sometimes, too.

Here I thought my parents were super-smart and original.

Thanks the other ideas, guys. I'll try to get mom and dad to get a little more variety in my walks as soon as all the rain stops.

Since I love to play ball and the farther the toss the better (and with a ball, I never need a leash), I like churches the best. Large grassy areas and usually not busy until weekends. Be a good dog though and bring bags to clean up after yourself or you will lose privledges & friends!

It's not very close, but there is a free fenced in bark park in Bloomington. We drive all the way out there because we don't think it fair to have to pay. It's a lovely place with plenty of room and a big creek with small falls to swim in!
