Allergies! YUCK!

Alice Faye Lawrence on My Blog - Thu, July 26 2007

Well let me tell you all what I have been through over the past year and a half...I have had back surgery and had to recovery (six weeks with no outside :P) that was last spring. However, lately it has been pure torture. I have these things called allergies, and they really make me itch, mostly in my nose and head area. So mom takes me to the vet this is our third trip in two weeks, I just cannot stop rubbing my nose raw and scratching. I had to be put on antibiotics and all sorts of meds and I am in the 'cone of silence' as mom calls it, you know the big cone that fits around your head that bobbles when you walk and you have to look straight up almost to see anyone, yep that is the cone(Shout out to my Pal Maggie, I feel your pain sweetie). Anyway, Dr. Church said it was probably a food allergy, but I am here to tell everyone I do not like this no treats and only one kind of food business, it is just plan cruel, I am used to 2 small milk bones a day and 1/2 a cup of food for breakfast and dinner. I also like the occasional piece of turkey bacon and yummy scrammbled eggs...Have you read my pet peeves? I did not get the nickname the Tank for looking slim!!! You are talking to a dog that ate a whole pack of gum foil and all and did not even get a stomach ache, so if anyone else has a suggestion I sure would like to take this dog gone cone off and start eating the good stuff again. Don't you think I am too cute and too young to be going through this, I mean come on look at me, and I should get anything I want with these eyes :) LOL

I went through the food allergy testing. I'm not a picky eater, so it didn't bother me. The only treat I was allowed to have was marshmallows. The vet said that is the only hypoallergenic food. You might want to check with your vet about that...boy, I miss those sugar highs!!

Did the back surgery have anything to do with the food addiction? Huuuu? Be honest.

Hello Nadli and Freckles :)

Nope, I have always loved food... I eat very fast, unless mom holds my food and feeds me slowly, but most of the time she just wets it so I do not choke myself :) I have been through to see the vet on this also but he says I am just like that and there are others out there with my food addiction :) LOL

I have been told I may have to go through the testing but there is nothing I will not eat, if my mom would let me I would eat my bowl, its metal and there are dents in it where I have chewed at it :) But I don't chew on anything else. Talk to you soon :)
