Human seeks forever dog!

Madeleine on My Blog - Sat, September 01 2007

This sounds like just the opposite of what is usually posted. My friend's mom who is in her mid 50's recently lost her elderly Schipperke. She lives in Louisville, but is up visiting her daughter in Indy for the long weekend, and she would love to find a forever dog while here. I know a lot of rescues won't adopt out of county or out of state, but some might. She is a wonderful pet steward. She's looking for a young female, under 2 y.o., puppy okay, under #25. She thinks she might want a terrier or terrier mix, but not quite the energy level of a JRT. I know about Dayzee's adoption event tomorrow, and am going to encourage her to go. Right now she has seen a few through petfinder, but they are located in several far flung places throughout Indiana, and most are only open or at events from 12-4, so navigating to lots of different places to get there on time will be difficult, plus often the dogs are already adopted or pending, and there aren't always phone numbers. If anyone knows of a little girl who would love to be well taken care of for many years, please let me know.

Good luck on your search! ps: not all jrt's are high energy... esp early mornings *yawn* just don't get a L-L-A-B (as my Mom says) out.

I'm not high energy and neither is Teddy. Well, I'm not high energy unless there's a ball around. Hee Hee

There is a rescue that I volunteer at in Martinsville called Our Lil Bit of Heaven. They are on petfinder and they have several rat terrier, chihuahua, and pug mixes. All are very sweet dogs. You just need to call ahead or email to make an appt. They are open 7 days a week and very willing to work with your schedule. Here is their link. http://west.petfinder.com/shelters/IN327.html
