Can I come live with you?

Mama Muttblood^..^ on My Blog - Sat, September 15 2007

Well, I don't look my regular self right now. I have morphed into a rescue dog who needed a spot to post a few cute pictures of myself. Doggerel got a call from a woman she works with late last night. The woman was somewhat frantic about 2 male puppies that had been in her yard for a couple of days, eating the feral cat food, and keeping the ferals at bay. One of those guys was me, and the other my brother. Since this lady lives on the eastside, and Doggerel had to be on the eastside anyway, she said she would come by and try to help us out. By the time she got there this AM, some neighbors wanted to adopt my brother, but not me, so she put a noose around my neck and put me in a big moving box! I hardly had time to say goodbye to my brother, or pack, or anything. We rode for a long time, and then got to another nice lady's house. Her boyfriend kept me company while I was out in the garage in that box, then took pity on me, and let me out. The next thing I know he is carrying me like a little baby into a house! A nice house that smelled like dogs, and good smelling stuff. I liked it there, and thought I might be able to stay there forever, but they said they were full up, whatever that meant. I met a lot of nice people, and they said they thought I looked like a pit bull greyhound mix, because I have a long neck, and a kind of long body, and a thin, straight tail. Plus my ears and jowls aren't completely pit bull. You can see that I am kind of handsome, and I have BEAUTIFUL golden eyes that are very deep and soulful. It didn't take very long before I saw that it was safe to give a few kisses and allow the nice people to pet and hold me. The man was especially nice. He let me go to sleep in his lap, and fed me, and let me pee in his yard. There were other dogs there, I could hear them barking at me from the back yard, and I was a little concerned, but I never had to meet them. Pretty soon Doggerel put me in the box again, and took me to another place. It was good at first. There are 3 cats here, and I was pretty interested in them. They all looked down at me from way high, and didn't look very friendly. That didn't stop me from trying to make friends, but they weren't having any of it. Doggerel put a collar and leash on me, and took me out in the yard to check things out. She didn't pull on me to make me walk with her, so I learned that it was okay. Then she unhooked the leash and let me wander around a little bit. Something bad happened around that time. The dogs that had been barking when I first arrived there didn't sound very happy about me. One of them came out and tried to attack me! All I wanted to do was lick her muzzle and play, but she was MEAN! Doggerel made her go away, but I was scared for awhile after that. Then she brought ANOTHER dog out to sniff my butt. I wanted to meet that one, too, but I had to stay on the leash while she checked me out. She snarled a little and I kept my distance because I could tell she meant it. Then I had to go into the box in the garage again, and that's where I am now. I'm waiting for someone to love me forever. I'm a very good boy. I know about going outside and not peeing and pooping in the house. I will love you forever. I weigh #28, and am very handsome. Please PM Doggerel if you know of a good situation for me. I don't want to live in her garage forever like someone named Big Stinky Ezra.

It'll be okay, sweetie. Your mama found Ezra a forever home, and I'm sure you'll find one, too. Just lay low in that house. We all know they weren't too kind to Ezra, and he survived! Paws crossed for ya! Yogi Man

I'll vouch that "rescue pup" is very sweet and snuggly. He even snoozed on my lap briefly and tried to follow me to my car on my way home after Saturday's activities. Unfortunately, I'm not in a situation to have a puppy... probably a good thing, getting four cats used to a dog wouldn't have been fun! Yes, I have *5* cats -- Charlie grew up with a dog around and has been exposed to them over the years and doesn't mind most dogs.
